How To Book / Pay
–The Primary Renter must provide a credit card in order to pay for the rental, as well as hold a damage deposit. The Primary Renter must also provide a government issued ID (Drivers license, passport, etc). The Primary Renter must be present at check-in to sign off on the equipment.
Debit cards can be used, however it is important that there is room for the damage deposit. We often have issues placing damage deposits on debit cards. If we are unable to place a damage deposit for any reason, unfortunately we will have to cancel your rental without refund.
–Bookings can be made online following the “Book Online Now” links, or by contacting us directly via Text/Call or Email. Reservations must be made in advance.
–Limited same day availability – book early to get the best times!
Damage Deposit & Fuel Charges
–Damage Deposit: For hourly rentals, we require a 2000 per jet ski damage deposit to be held for the duration of your rental. This will be placed the day of your rental, and released following the safe return and inspection of the equipment.
–Fuel Charges: For simplicity, we charge a set fueling rate on a per hour basis. Our jet skis are quite fuel efficient, burring on average 5 gallons per hour (compared to some that burn 10 or more!). Our rate follows the on water fueling rate and is charged based on the duration of your rental. Contact us for the current fuel rate.
Booking & Cancellation Policies
–Full refund on cancellations made more than 7 days (168 hours) of your booking.
–No refunds/reschedules 7 days (168 hours) of your booking
Making a booking blocks off a time slot for other people that want to rent. Please be sure of your booking day before confirming your booking! Northwest weather is unpredictable. We do not offer cancellations due to inclement weather. Please plan ahead!
All bookings are subject to this cancellation policy.
When to arrive before my rental?
We recommend (require) you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to rental start time for check-in, paperwork, and orientation. A late start does not equal a late return.
FAQ
What is your late return policy?
We rely on the on time return of our equipment to ensure that it is ‘good to go’ for the next renter.
Late fees begin accruing immediately at the end of the rental window at a rate of $5 per minute for the first 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, a 100 dollar late charge will be added to my rental, in addition to the still accruing $5 per minute.
After 30 minutes, a rental charge equal to double the rate of the next rental will be added to the bill. After 1 hour, the late fee becomes the day rate for the rented equipment.
‘Late’ is defined by an Ohana Kai employee not having possession of the rental equipment and key.
Where can I go on the lake?
In a 1 hour rental, it is easy to circle Mercer Island. This is typically what we suggest.
With a longer rental, you may want to explore more of the lake. Though keep in mind, the further away you get from your start point the more difficult it will be for us to help you if you get into trouble.
There are a few off limits areas on the lake:
-Andrews Bay [shallow]
-Seward Park Area [shallow]
-Lake Union [high traffic, no wake zone]
-North of the 520 bridge
Damages | What happens if I damage the equipment I am renting?
We always conduct a thorough pre-inspection of each ski rented with the primary renter of the ski. At that time, we will take pictures to document any pre-existing concerns. We encourage the renting party to do the same.
This same inspection will be conducted again at the end of the rental period to determine if any new issues have arisen… We work extremely hard at maintaining the mechanical function and appearance of our skis. We do realize, though, that with the passage of time, they will show natural signs of wear and tear. We fully expect this. However, if it is determined during the post inspection that damage to the ski(s) has been incurred that was not noted during the pre-inspection, we will be needing to charge the primary renter’s credit card for any and all damages and repairs. Please note that the primary renter is solely responsible for any charges to the rented equipment. If damaged was caused by someone else, the renter will need to pursue reimbursement with that individual on their own.
Most damage is easily avoidable. Treat our machines as if they were your own (with care and respect), follow ours and all posted rules, and this rare occurrence will be avoidable.
What if the weather isn't great?
Weather in the Northwest can be unpredictable
We cannot offer rental credit for inclement weather, unless the weather is deemed ‘unsafe’ by an on-site manager
Cancellation Policy
When a reservation is made and paid for, this is you saying that you want to rent during this specific time. Other renters are turned away because of this, and if you cancel this leaves a gap that is difficult to fill. Please be sure you can rent during the time you request. Ohana Kai staff must confirm your cancellation within the cancellation window. Leaving a voicemail doesn’t count 🙂
Making a booking with us constitutes your understanding and acceptance of this policy.
-At least 7 days: Full refund
-Less than 7 days (168 hours): No refunds, no reschedules fee if canceled less than 7 days (168 hours) before the rental start time
